Why do ants keep coming back after treatment?
Usually because the colony survived. Store-bought sprays kill the foragers you see while the queens and brood stay hidden in the nest, and odorous house ants can split into new nests when a fast-acting spray hits them. Ants also return from neighboring yards along old scent trails.
